Music streaming platform Spotify has taken a stand against freeloading music artists, releasing a new update to its music streaming and licensing platform this morning which will now charge artists a small but substantial fee per stream, instead of reimbursing them.

CEO Grant Hayward hailed the move as “a revolutionary crackdown against freeloading artists” who “expect us not to profit off of their meaningless noise.” Spotify’s stock rose 2.5% at the news and investors were generally pleased at the forthcoming financial upturn. ♫
